Raise Your Virtual Paddle to Fund a Laptop Cart for Stuy!

Our appeal to fund a new Stuy Laptop Cart at Spring Feast 2019 was a major success and many raised their paddles at the banquet following Principal Contreras' compelling remarks. We are now bringing it into the virtual space to allow the entire generous Stuy community to contribute, just as as every student at our school will benefit from it!

What Is a Laptop Cart?

A laptop cart is a versatile, up-to-date, mature-tech, mobile unit containing 34 laptops that ensures every student in a class has a computer to work on. With a laptop cart, teachers will not need to waste time moving students out of their usual classroom to a computer lab--which might be hard to schedule anyway. Instead they can roll one of these in and have the students up and working in a very short time.

Why Do We Need a New Laptop Cart?

Currently, we do not have enough computer labs to accommodate the growing number of students enrolling in AP classes. Roll in laptop carts can be used anywhere in the building, by any class, at any time--for AP language exams, for the Arts, Music, STEM subjects, and, of course, for a wide variety of technology classes.
